Dearest Mama:
I'm so sorry I missed seeing you off to Hawaii. I was afraid to ask for time off here because no one does it unless they're ill. Mother said it was very nice. I certainly envy you the trip and know you must be having a lovely time.
Mother has forwarded two letters from Dorothy and Miriam and wants me to send them on to you. I was awfully disappointed to hear that Dorothy's family won't be coming out this summer. it's nice Miriam and George can live in Seattle or was in Spokane.
We're going to Riverside for Easter. We'll attend the sunrise services at Mt. Rubidoux (where the original Easter sunrise services were held) and then we're going to Palm Springs. I certainly wish we could see my folks oftener but we simply can't afford the train fare. We're going to San Diego my next Saturday off, tho. Jacksons are going to take us down.
I got a lovely permanent in Riverside a while back. It's the first good I've ever had.
If you have time drop us a line and tell us what you see and do in Hawaii.
Lots of love,
Virginia
P.S. I'm sending you some recent pictures.

pictured - Virginia's home in L.A. as it looks in 2011. West of downtown in what is now Koreatown.
The modern looking building is where Mama stayed in Hawai.
