Dear Aunt Edna:
I sure miss all of you and I would kind of like to go for a walk in the hills right now.
Have you been listening to "Cecil and Sally"? They sure are funny. Cecil is growing a mustasche (sp) and every-one thinks his face is dirty. Tonight he put some salad oil on his upper lip so that it will grow faster. He thinks that he will have a long flowing beard by tomorrow.
Tell Bunny I miss her quite a lot.
I'm trying to pass the time till it is time for Amos and Andy. Andy sure is in a mix up isn't he?
Today was a especially nice day. It was quite warm, but I would rather be home and have snow any old day.
Has it been very sarm in Orange?
How does it seem to Bunny to go to school again? I didn't want to very bad, althoug it does seem good to have something to do.
Our Bird Piccilo Pete is crazy about the song for Amos and Andy. (I don't know what it is called.)
I have (only) 6 more Crhistmas letters to write. It's kind of silly to say only isn't it?
I can't think of any thing to say but that I had a swell time while I was at your house.
Lots of love to all.

Amos and Andy - radio show
Cecil and Sally - radio show
One of the earliest popular old time radio shows, Cecil and Sally broadcast out of San Francisco. It was one of the earliest old time radio shows to be syndicated nationally via electrical transcriptions and by 1930 they had over 15 million fans.
The two met while working in KYA radio station in San Francisco where Helen Troy was an organist and Johnny Patrick was an announcer. The two created Cecil and Sally with fun office banter when Helen picked up her mail. She would talk in a baby voice with a lisp and he would speak in a Yiddish dialect.
Eventually they came up with skits and put on the air until the working title The Funniest Things first broadcast in 1928. This show soon changed to Cecil and Sally and ran until 1933 as a short format program.
